1st Workshop of Ro-NeSSI

The event marks the start-up of the Romanian National Technology Platform (NTP) dedicated to Software Services, under the acronym Ro-NeSSI: Romanian Network of Software Service Initiatives. The meeting creates the opportunities to discuss about similar platforms at European and national levels, to identify the Romanian competences in software services and the potential directions of a strategic research agenda, as well as to establish the connections between the Romanian NTP, other NTPs and NESSI as European TP.

The aims of the session are:

to expose SPRERS project intentions and plans to support the start-up of the national technological platform in software services
to expose the NESSI objectives and those of the network of national platforms
to expose the vision of NESSI about the strategic and compliant collaborative projects

Session 2 - National software service platforms

The NESSI National platforms are a part of the NESSI network initiative.

The overall goal of any NESSI Platform is to promote the development and application of service and ICT technologies for addressing current challenges within European industry and government.

The aims of the session are:

to clarify the benefits of organizing and ways to organize a national platform
to identify what is expect when joining the group of national platforms.

Session 4 - Round table: Towards a Romanian Strategic Research Agenda

The aims of the session are:

to agree on the form of organization of the Ro-NeSSI platform
to establish the ways to proceed in the elaboration of its basic documents (Vision, Strategic Research Agenda, Implementation Plan)

to establish the working groups

to discuss the means to establish and maintain cooperation with national and international stakeholders giving them a solid professional background for decisions of policy-makers

to find the way how the platform can be maintained as a self-sustaining organization.

NESSI national platforms

SPRERS's proposal for Ro-NeSSI strategic research agenda will be deliver in June 2010 as Green paper of Ro-NeSSI and will present:

the position of Romanian research teams relative to the topics of software services as reflected in NESSI documents
a range of ideas expressing further research interests of Romanian teams in the field of software services.

The document is meant to invite further Romanian researchers or organizations to contribute views and information.
